Treatments

BRNZ researchers are working hard to develop and test novel therapies to offer treatment or to delay the onset of neurological disease.

As we learn more about the brain, and about the processes of healthy and unhealthy ageing, new treatments will be developed and tested. Our preclinical studies include tests of new gene therapies, new candidate drugs and molecules identified via high-throughput screening, and harnessing the potential of human cells reprogrammed into nerve cells.

From new rehabilitation techniques for people affected by stroke, to exercise to slow the development of Parkinson’s disease, our researchers are examining promising treatments for a wide-range of neurological issues.
